SAN FRANCISCO CLAYER'S CLUB
CLAYERS GONNA CLAY!
MAKERS GONNA MAKE!
The San Francisco Clayer's Club was created by Cafe Alma with support from EDoT (Economic Development on Third) as Bayview's very own public access pottery studio. Located above Cafe Alma and overlooking the beautiful Bay, we offer classes, memberships, workshops and special events such as birthday parties and team building. We at SF Clayer's Club firmly believe in the transformative power of art and making in communities. Clay can be a deeply therapeutic medium for artists of all ages and skill levels. Creating with clay allows us to slow down, disconnect from the digital world, and to trust the process. The San Francisco Clayer's Club is a community of artists and students working side-by-side in a friendly environment that encourages and inspires artistic growth. We believe everyone has an artist inside them!
We are also excited to announce that addition of Pedal and Press, a new maker's space located below the cafe that offers quilting and sewing workshops as well as screen printing and branding opportunities for local residents and entrepreneurs.
UPCOMING CLASSES
Quilt Making at Pedal and Press
Become a part of the stitching community and make your first patchwork quilt from start to finish with instructor Katie Furukawa Bonifacio. We'll begin with preparing our fabrics, then move to cutting fabric and sewing them together with a sewing machine to make the quilt top. Katie will share a strip piecing technique to help the quilt top go together faster, thanks to the magic of rotary cutters. Once the top is finished, we'll baste the top and backing to a layer of batting and thenn machine quilt them together to keep everything secure. Next comes adding the binding to finish off the edges. Lastly, we'll attach a label to our quilts to document who made it and for what reason!
This class is geared towards beginners; the only thing you need to know how to do is sew a straight line. The class is spaced out over six sessions to allow enough time to complete all steps of the quilt making process. Participants may bring their own fabric prints, binding, and backing, but are also encouraged to "shop" from our selection of fabrics that have been donated to Pedal & Press at one of our drop-in fabric selection sessions ahead of time.

Ghoulish Glam Accessory Workshop
Join the clever makers of Sew Freaky for a day or two of creativity, fun, and a little bit of fright as we bring the spirit of Halloween to life through fashion and design! The workshops will be held Saturday October 19th and 26th from 11-2 pm. The cost is $35 per session or both for $60.

During this hands-on session, you'll create customized wings, masks, and crowns using a variety of materials—from fabric, feathers, and sequins to lace, plus whatever we find at SCRAP for you! Our experienced instructors will guide you through each step of the process, offering tips on design, assembly, and embellishment to help you achieve a polished and professional finish. Perfect for both beginners and seasoned sewers and crafters, "Ghoulish Glam" provides you with the tools and materials you need to bring your fashionable Halloween accessories to life (or back from the dead).
Since we are a new crafting space, we may not have all the materials for your vision, please bring any specialty items for your customized looks or contact us at sewfreaky.sf@gmail.com in advance and we will try to accommodate your needs.
